Baby blues or postpartum depression?

Screening Tool FAQs

  • Our screening tool is based on the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) - a clinically validated, standardized questionnaire considered the standard of care for postpartum metal health screening.

Our screening tool is designed to offer valuable insights into potential signs of postnatal depression by assessing various emotional and psychological factors. It aims to prompt self-reflection and encourage individuals to seek further evaluation from healthcare professionals if necessary.

  • The screening tool consists of ten (10) multiple choice questions. You will be asked to choose the answer that best reflects your experiences over the past 1-2 weeks.

Each response is assigned a score, depending on the severity of the symptom or feeling. The scores are totaled to provide an overall assessment of your emotional well-being.

  • Our mental health screening tool provides an initial assessment of your mood based on your responses to the Edinburg Postnatal Depression Scale (EDPS) questions, offering a snapshot of your mental health status. However, it does not provide a formal diagnosis, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The tool is a self-assessment intended to prompt important conversations with healthcare providers, guiding mamas to seek appropriate care based on their individual circumstances.

  • We take protecting health data seriously. Our screening tool does not collect any Protected Health Information (PHI) or Personally Identifiable Information (PII). All data collected by the screening tool is anonymized and used solely for the purposes of administering the tool.

Our privacy practices are informed by the highest standards for information security and reviewed regularly for updates.
